I photographed Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot during a candid conversation about love and sex aboard an old sailboat. Nadya, known for her activism, spoke about her struggle to understand human love, contrasting it with the simpler affection of animals. She shared that, despite her bold public persona, she finds it difficult to navigate traditional relationships.
Through the photos, I aimed to capture her raw, unfiltered spirit. Nadya challenged conventional ideas about gender roles and love, emphasizing the freedom to redefine intimacy. Our discussion revealed her complex views on relationships, which are shaped by both personal experiences and societal pressures.
