For this article for Vice Netherlands, I photographed three women in music: Kristel de Haak, Caroline Westendorp, and Vicky van Zijl, who shared their experiences with sexism, agism and gender biases in the Dutch music industry.
The article shows how the women struggle to be taken seriously, are often reduced to their gender, regardless of their skills and face inappropriate advances and judgement on their appearance rather than their skills.
In my photography, I tried to document their strength and authenticity and was happy to contribute to more awareness on this topic.
